Cerebral Palsy Lawyers in Illinois

The criminal courthouse at Belmont and Western (2452 West Belmont Avenue) is a preliminary hearing location for felony crimes committed within Chicago as well as a final location for misdemeanor charges in Chicago that happen in the Wrigleyville area on the north side.

If the preliminary felony hearing results in a finding of probable cause then the case will go to a grand jury or be transferred to the main Chicago felony courthouse at 26th and California or one of the suburban district courthouses. Felonies can range from murder to rape to various drug crimes.

Misdemeanor charges that are heard at Belmont and Western can include solicitation of a prostitute, disorderly conduct, assault, battery and many other alleged crimes. Convictions for any of these charges can result in jail time for up to 364 days as well as a large fine. The most common cases that we hear about are people who have been drunk around the bars near Wrigley Field. It's not uncommon for the police to charge them with disorderly conduct when they have nothing else to charge them with.

No matter what the charge is, it's of course very serious as any conviction can lead to jail time and a record that cannot be cleaned up.

The Chicago criminal lawyers that we recommend almost exclusively defend criminal charges and usually handle no other types of legal matters. We know and recommend lawyers that do a lot of work at Belmont and Western and have a track record of success at that courthouse. Whether you find a lawyer through us or another source, we strongly feel that this is the type of lawyer you need – it will only benefit you to have someone on your side who already has a rapport with the prosecutors and judges at Belmont and Western. This doesn't guarantee a result, but strengthens your ability to get the best result possible.
