How it Works

We help people sift through the thousands of attorneys in Illinois and choose the best one for them. We also answer legal questions and provide general guidance on almost any Illinois legal issue. We are based in Chicago, but we help people all over the state in almost every county.

When you contact us, you will speak with an Illinois attorney for free. If you send us an email, an Illinois attorney will call you, for free. And it doesn’t take weeks to hear back from us. You can usually speak with an attorney right away, and almost always within 24 hours.

Our attorneys are licensed in Illinois and each one has at least 10 years of experience. The attorney you speak with will ask you questions and get to the heart of your issue. They will then suggest solutions, offer guidance, explain the law (in terms a non-attorney can understand) and help you decide what your next step should be.

If you need an attorney, we will refer you to the best attorney we know for your situation. If we don’t think you need an attorney, we’ll tell you. If you don’t have a case, we’ll help you understand why and even suggest non-legal solutions for you to consider.

Many people don’t want a lawyer, either because of the cost or a lack of trust. We still have faith in lawyers because we know a lot of honest, hardworking attorneys who get great results and treat their clients with respect. We’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference it can make to have an attorney on your side.

How we do it

We make referrals based on the hundreds of attorneys we know. We’ve spent years getting to know these attorneys and what they’re good at. We’re more like matchmakers than a referral service. Instead of giving you a name off a list, we first understand what you need and then match you up with the attorney who we believe can best meet those needs.

The attorneys we recommend have some things in common. They all have many years of experience and a proven track record of success. We also recognize that not every person wants the same things in an attorney. We know which criminal defense attorneys are good at negotiating with the prosecutors in Cook County, and which Springfield divorce attorneys are known for handling their cases efficiently. Success means different things to different people. We promise to listen to your goals.

The personal injury attorney we recommend for one caller is probably different from the attorney we’d recommend for another. If you have an extremely unique case, we will work on finding someone who has handled a similar case in the past, even if they aren’t local. On the other hand, if your case is more straightforward, we’ll probably recommend a local attorney because they are more likely to be familiar with the courthouse, judges and the other attorneys who may be involved in your case.

We believe having the right attorney for your case puts you on the right track. It doesn’t guarantee a result, but it gives you the best chance of success.

Why we do it

We saw a need for customer service in the legal field. We wanted to provide straightforward legal guidance to people with questions about Illinois law, and we wanted to help people find an attorney who can best solve their problem.

We wanted to start a service where people would feel listened to, where they could get answers to their questions in plain English, and where they could get a personalized referral.

What we don’t do

We are not a typical referral service, meaning we do not get paid to recommend attorneys. We do not simply charge attorneys to be on our list and then rotate through the names as people call us. We choose each and every attorney we recommend. They do not pay us to give you their name.
